Giving back is important to Seawood Builders. We are dedicated to building a brighter future in the neighborhoods where we work and live.

Since Ed and Betty Masi started Seawood Builders in 1977, the company has raised and invested over five million dollars to improving the communities and lives in where they live and work. As Seawood Builders grew, it was able to invest more and more into its communities. In 2019, Seawood Builders restructured its giving guidelines to have a greater impact in its areas of interest. Today, Seawood Builders invests a percentage of its annual budget back into its neighborhood.

Areas of Interest

Seawood Builders provides sponsorships and corporate donations to programs and services related to these three areas of interests.

Basic Needs

Seawood Builders supports programs and services whose mission is to provide basic needs to the residents living and working in our neighborhoods. This includes food pantries, emergency shelters, emergency assistance, homeless shelters, veteran services, housing assistance programs, and access to health and mental health care. In addition, funding for efforts that are promoting access to fresh foods, nutrition and wellness initiatives in our neighborhoods are supported.

Giving Strategies

Seawood Builders is committed to be a responsible corporate citizen and good neighbor. We give in the following ways.

Matching Gifts – As part of our restructured 2019 Corporate Philanthropy Giving Guidelines, Seawood Builders now supports our employees' personal philanthropy/charitable giving by providing a 1:1 match. Matching gifts must fall within one of our three areas of interest (basic needs, youth, and environment), and be a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Employees can apply for a Seawood Builders matching gift once a year, within six months of the donation. Matching gifts must be between $50 and $500.

Volunteer – Being a good neighbor is more than providing funds, its giving time. As part of our restructured 2019 Corporate Philanthropy Giving Guidelines, Seawood Builders now gives employees 2 days (16 hours) of pre-approved paid time per year to volunteer in our neighborhoods. Employees are encouraged to use this time to volunteer for the charities they support in one of Seawood’s areas of focus. In addition, Seawood Builders partners with local charities for a company sponsored volunteer initiative day.

Sponsorships – Seawood Builders supports programs and services in our three areas of interest through event sponsorships. We analyze each opportunity for its impact on the program and community as well as its marketing value to our company.

In-Kind Donations – Seawood Builders supports programs and services in our three areas of interest with in-kind donations throughout the year.

Corporate Gifts – Occasionally, Seawood Builders provides a financial corporate gift to a program or service that focuses on one of the three areas of interest. These opportunities are carefully analyzed and awarded.
